Amanda White, a well-respected native Houstonian who exercises her concern for the community, and passion in helping people. Her gifts, works, and contributions to society are both impeccable and influential to the people that cross her path.

The same fire of passion that burns inside of her had pushed her to reach and rescue abused children. Working as a children’s advocate for 3 years, Amanda hastily assisted children in court and removed them from abusive homes. She transitioned to teaching children (her first real love) and soon earned her associate degree by life experiences.

In 1998, Amanda had the opportunity to mentor men and women for chemical dependency (drug abuse). In addition, Amanda is the owner of two Assisting Living Home for Disable Veterans, Elderly’s and Mentally Challenged.

Continuously destined on tearing the walls and barriers down in 2016 Amanda founded the organization and ministry– Torch Bearer Reentry which focus on Veterans and Returning Citizens released from jails and prisons and directs them towards a path to success.

Amanda’s servants’ heart and ministry works have opened big doors for her life to partnering with major nonprofit organizations, and recognize for countless awards including: appearing with Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee at City Hall’s healthcare rally, awarded the 2017 Texas Black Woman Expo Educate, Motivate, and Inspire Award, and given a Certificate of Recognition from the City of Houston. In October of 2017, Amanda was honor with the opportunities of connecting with Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) and was allowed to prescreen Oprah Winfrey’s documentary entitled, Released, which captured the first 90 days of various men and women being released from prison.

It is evident this visionary/servant/minister has done some extraordinary things and is onto even better and bigger projects. Amanda looks forward to educating people on the important of voting, fighting for the rights of those exiting the penal system and changing the law on disclosing criminal records. She is an active member of GOE (Gathering of Eagles, Lady Lions Club, GHBC (Greater Houston Black Chamber) and a proud member of The Hope Church. Amanda has been preaching, teaching, ministering, and counseling for over 35 years. She is extremely eager to continue doing what she does best– using her life to minister to others.
